The ISMF Youth World Cup season continued in Surnadal, Norway, where young ski mountaineering talents gathered for the second event of the season and another important stop on the international calendar. Athletes from a wide range of nations took part, once again confirming the strong international appeal and growing level of the Youth World Cup circuit.
Sprint – Thursday, 12 February
The event opened with the Sprint race, delivering fast-paced and highly technical competition. The short and intense format rewarded explosive power, precision in transitions, and tactical awareness. Head-to-head heats created exciting racing for spectators and immediately set a dynamic tone for the weekend.
Vertical – Saturday, 14 February
The Vertical race shifted the focus to endurance and pacing, challenging athletes on a sustained uphill effort. Competitors had to manage their effort carefully while maintaining high intensity from start to finish, highlighting climbing strength and mental resilience across all youth categories.
Individual – Sunday, 15 February
The competition concluded with the Individual race, the most complete format of the weekend. Combining climbing, technical descents, and race strategy, the Individual tested athletes’ versatility and endurance, providing a strong and competitive finale to the Surnadal event.
