The ISMF World Cup arrives in Andorra with super snow conditions and top contenders ready to battle.

The ISMF World Cup circuit makes the traditional stop in the Pyrenees. The 3rd stage of the 2025/26 season lands at Comapedrosa, Andorra. Known as one of the classic stages on the World Cup calendar, this year promises something extra: for the first time, the Sprint race is coming to Comapedrosa with a new location, adding a thrilling new dimension to the event.

On 25–26 January, the world’s best ski mountaineers will face a double challenge: the traditional Vertical and the Sprint, both testing speed, precision, and tactical flair. At around 2,300 meters of high-altitude terrain, athletes will also have to contend with the thin mountain air—a variable that could shake up the standings and make every second count.

Participants:

  • Vertical Race: 90 athletes (34 women | 56 men) from 20 nations
  • Sprint: 108 athletes (42 women | 66 men) from 20 nations

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) has ensured excellent spectator access and facilities at Come see the ISMF World Cup, making it easy and welcoming for fans to come out, enjoy the racing and cheer on all the athletes in person throughout the World Cup weekend.

Race track:

VERTICAL RACE
The Vertical race covers 690 vertical meters, starting at Chair Lift Josep Serra 1580m and finishing close to the Xalet IGLOO 2300m. This year, the finish line of the Vertical race is located just 200 meters below and beside the Xalet Igloo, making it extremely convenient for spectators to gather and cheer for the athletes during this exciting race

A demanding and continuous climb, the course emphasizes pure uphill performance and endurance.

SPRINT RACE

The Sprint track features an elevation difference of +65 m / -65 m, offering a compact but intense test of speed, power, and technical skill.

The course starts with a flat to medium-steep uphill, where a series of diamond-shaped sections are designed to push athletes to full speed. The route includes a particularly steep snow section +10m that demands both power and rhythm, followed by a final steeper uphill where skiers stay on their skis to reach the summit.

From the top, competitors face a fast downhill with no obstacles, ending with skating sections before crossing the finish line.
