Masters Magic in La Plagne (FRA): A High‑Altitude Showdown in Granier

La Plagne/Granier is gearing up to welcome the ISMF Masters World Championships on 24–25 January, turning this alpine village into the centre stage of international ski mountaineering. With its wide-open slopes and crisp high‑mountain air, Granier sets the perfect scene for two intense days of competition.

This year’s programme brings athletes face‑to‑face with two defining challenges of the discipline: Vertical and Individual.

Racing at altitude adds an extra layer of difficulty—thin air, steep gradients, and unforgiving terrain will push even the most experienced Masters athletes to dig deep. Every climb will matter. Every descent will count.

The Local Organising Committee has worked to create a welcoming environment for spectators, offering opportunities to follow the races, soak in the atmosphere, and cheer on athletes from across the world.

Let the Masters World Championships begin!
