Margot Ravinel’s passion for ski mountaineering began at age 15, inspired by her uncle who was already involved in the sport. Excited to try it herself, she joined the Cruseilles ski club with her father and quickly discovered both the thrill of skimo and her love for pushing her limits. Motivated by the desire to learn more about herself and test her boundaries, Margot has cultivated a deep commitment to training and growth.
Her proudest achievement so far is qualifying for the Olympic Games, a milestone that challenged her to maintain balance, stay true to her values, and handle the pressures of elite competition. The 2022/2023 season tested her mental resilience, as she reached her highest level yet but faced setbacks, including not being selected for the World Championships.
A typical training day for Margot is structured yet adaptable. She often begins her mornings with her boyfriend, enjoys a big crepe, then prepares for morning training. After lunch and a short rest, she readies herself for the second training session, followed by time spent with her friends and family and rest to recover. Her mental preparation focuses on the process: she plans her actions, enjoys the moment, and relies on the foundation built through her training.
Outside of ski mountaineering, Margot enjoys squash, sewing, singing, playing piano, and spending time with friends. Her hobbies reflect her creativity and love for connection beyond sport.
For the upcoming season, Margot aims to perform at her best, continue learning from every race, and maintain the joy that drives her training. She hopes to inspire others to take risks, trust themselves, and pursue their goals in their own way. To her supporters, she shares: “Thank you to everyone who supports me in my passion. Margot works with coach Lucas Mary, physical trainer Antoine Millot, and psychologist Anne Lambert to refine her performance and maintain balance both on and off the mountains.
