Arno Lietha discovered ski mountaineering after a career in ski racing, inspired by his father and brother who competed in local races. Drawn to the challenge and camaraderie of the sport, he pursued it at a competitive level with encouragement from his teammates.
His proudest achievement came in 2019 when he became World Champion, a milestone that reflects his dedication, skill, and perseverance on the mountains. Each training day is unique, and Arno approaches competitions with focus and calm, trusting his preparation and experience.
Outside of sport, Arno works on his parents’ farm—a passion that complements his life in the mountains and keeps him connected to the land.
Looking ahead, Arno aims for Olympic gold and hopes that his achievements inspire young people to try ski mountaineering. To his fans, he says: “Thanks for your support!”
