Pablo Ginner discovered ski mountaineering in 2017, inspired by the performances and achievements of Kilian Jornet, whose World Cup victories left a lasting impression on him. His path into competitive sport truly began when he met Robin Galindo in high school, who introduced him to ski mountaineering racing and helped shape the direction of his athletic career.
For Pablo, his proudest achievement is not defined by a single result, but by the journey itself — from growing up in a small village high in the mountains to reaching the Olympic Winter Games. Along the way, he has faced significant challenges, most notably a carotid artery injury in 2021 that forced him to step away from competition for an entire year. The experience strengthened his perspective, reinforcing patience, resilience, and appreciation for the process of returning to sport.
His daily routine revolves around training and recovery, with a strong focus on mobility work, proper nutrition, and maintaining balance through activities such as reading and drawing. Mentally, Pablo approaches competitions with a simple philosophy: enjoy every moment and have as much fun as possible while racing.
Outside of sport, he has a strong interest in geography, drawing, and reading, pursuits that allow him to relax and stay creative away from competition.
Looking ahead, Pablo hopes to inspire young people who did not grow up in a sports environment or who may lack access to the sport they dream of. Through his journey, he wants to show that perseverance and belief in oneself can open unexpected doors and make ambitious goals possible.
He is deeply grateful for the support he receives and shares a simple message with those following his journey: thank you for your support — and let’s keep cheering together.
